How can I see how much space is left on my Yandex Disk?
The total and the free space of your Yandex Disk is shown on the indicator in the lower left corner of the Yandex Disk window:

How do I get more space on Yandex Disk?
- Delete unnecessary folders and files, and then empty the Trash: files and folders moved to Trash also take up space on Yandex Disk.
- Subscribe to Yandex 360 Premium with the additional storage space you need.
- Use a promo code.
- Participate in promotions organized by Yandex 360 or our partners.
What happens if I run out of space on Yandex Disk?
When there's no more space on your Yandex Disk, access to Yandex Disk is restricted. If you don't fix this, after 44 days your access to Yandex Disk will be blocked.
Access restriction
When there's no more space on your Yandex Disk, you can't:
- Upload new files
- Share files and create shared folders
- Open files shared earlier via public links
- Efficiently work with the files you've uploaded earlier.
To remove restrictions, delete unnecessary files, empty the Trash (files in the Trash also take up space), or buy more storage space. If necessary, download the files to your computer before deleting them.
Yandex Disk block
If you don't remove the restrictions, your Yandex Disk will be blocked after 44 days, and you'll lose access to it. To unlock Yandex Disk and regain full access:
- Buy additional space. Your Yandex Disk will be unblocked within a few minutes.
- Free up space:
- Contact support. Specify the blocked account login in the email.
- Wait for the reply: we'll temporarily unblock your Yandex Disk so that you can take measures to remove the restrictions.
- As soon as Yandex Disk is unblocked, delete files you don't need or empty the Trash (files there also take up space). If necessary, download the files to your computer before deleting them.
I've run out of space on Yandex Disk. Why?
- Your Premium subscription expired, so you don't have as much space available
-
Check your Yandex 360 Premium subscription. If it hasn't renewed, contact support.
- The promotion period you used has expired
-
The volume of your Yandex Disk may also decrease at the end of the promotion period which you used to get additional space.
- You filled all the available Yandex Disk space with data
- If your files have completely filled up your Yandex Disk, there are several ways to buy additional storage space.
I see the message “No more space on your Disk”, but there is still a lot of free space
You can sometimes see this message in Yandex Disk. Additionally, the actual space taken up by files on Yandex Disk may be less than the occupied space shown by the indicator (in the bottom-left corner of the Yandex Disk page). This is because the files you moved to the Trash on the Yandex Disk page or deleted in Yandex Disk for desktop still take up space on your Yandex Disk. They will be automatically deleted in 30 days. If you're running out of space, empty Trash before that.
Another possible reason is that you're using different accounts in the browser and the Yandex Disk desktop program. Make sure the account you're using in the browser is the same one you're using in the Yandex Disk desktop program.
Monthly file upload limit
Over the course of each month, you can only upload files totaling up to double the Yandex Disk volume that comes with your plan. For example, if your Yandex Disk comes with 5 GB of space, you can upload up to 10 GB of files per month so long as you keep freeing up enough space.
If you reach the monthly limit within 30 days of the first upload, your Yandex Disk will be restricted until the end of that period, meaning you'll only be able to view and download files. Thirty days after your first upload, the limit will be reset, and you'll be able to upload files to your Yandex Disk again. To increase the monthly limit, sign up for Yandex 360 Premium. The more disk space you have, the higher your monthly limit.
Yandex Disk storage space FAQ
- Check how much free space you have left on the Yandex 360 plans page.
- See your Yandex Disk history to find out whether your storage space was reduced and, if it was, why.
- A service plan you had providing additional space expired. You can switch to a new plan on the Yandex 360 plans page.
- You disabled and enabled a Plus subscription. Your promotion period ended, so you no longer have the additional 10 GB of storage space you got when you signed up for Plus. To find out about Plus benefits available to you, contact support using the form at the bottom of the page.
Your access may be blocked due to files taking up more space than you have available with your plan. For example, your Yandex Disk volume might be 5 GB, while you have 5.5 GB of files. To remove the restrictions, buy additional space or delete files you no longer need.
You can delete files by filling out the feedback form, which will get your Yandex Disk automatically unblocked for a while.
You can sign up for Yandex 360 Premium or see how much free space you have left on the Yandex 360 plans page.
For more information about access restrictions, see What happens if I run out of space on Yandex Disk?
You exceeded your upload limit, so your uploads are temporarily restricted. Every month, you can upload files totaling no more than double the Yandex Disk space that comes with your plan. For example, if your Yandex Disk comes with 5 GB, you can upload up to 10 GB of files so long as you keep freeing up space.
Files you upload to folders owned by other people also count against the limit. That's so they don't lose the ability to upload files themselves.
The limit is reset 30 days after the first upload.
To increase your monthly limit and enjoy more storage space and other benefits, sign up for Yandex 360 Premium on the Yandex 360 plans page.
For more information about the upload limit, see Monthly file upload limit.
Possible reasons:
The amount of Yandex Disk space you have will go back to what it was before you activated the subscription. If you run out of space after your Yandex 360 Premium subscription expires, your access to Yandex Disk will be restricted for 44 days, after which it will be blocked.
You can buy additional storage or check how much free space you have left on the Yandex 360 plans page.
